Electoral (Amendment) Act 2014

1. Amendment of Electoral Act 1992

1. The Electoral Act 1992 is amended—

(a) in section 41—

(i) in paragraph (j), by deleting “or”, and

(ii) by repealing paragraph (k),

and

(b) in section 42—

(i) in subsection (1), by substituting “subsection (2) ” for “subsections (2) and (3) ”,

(ii) by repealing subsection (3), and

(iii) in subsection (4), by deleting “or (3) ”.

2. Amendment of European Parliament Elections Act 1997

2. Section 11 of the European Parliament Elections Act 1997 is amended in subsection (2) (a) by substituting “paragraphs (f) to (j) ” for “paragraphs (f) to (k) ”.

3. Short title, construction and collective citations

3.(1) This Act may be cited as the Electoral (Amendment) Act 2014.

(2) This Act shall be included in the collective citation “Electoral Acts 1992 to 2014” and shall be read together as one with those Acts.

(3) This Act (in so far as it relates to European Parliament elections) shall be included in the collective citation “European Parliament Elections Acts 1992 to 2014” and shall (in so far as it so relates) be read together as one with those Acts.
