1. Amendment of section 13A of Electoral Act 1992

1. Section 13A (inserted by section 4 of the Electoral (Amendment) Act 2001) of the Electoral Act 1992 is amended by inserting the following subsection after subsection (3A) (inserted by section 1 of the Electoral (Amendment) Act 2012):

“(3B) A person may use information in the register prepared under section 13, including a draft register or the supplement to the register prepared under section 15, being information which is excluded from the edited register, for the purpose of selecting citizens of Ireland to participate in the Citizens’ Assembly called pursuant to a decision of the Government made on 21 June 2016 and approved by resolution of each House of the Oireachtas.”.

2. Short title, collective citation and construction

2. (1) This Act may be cited as the Electoral (Amendment) Act 2016.

(2) The Electoral Acts 1992 to 2015 and this Act may be cited together as the Electoral Acts 1992 to 2016 and shall be read together as one.
