Wijziging nr. 2 van het Multilateraal Verdrag inzake de exploitatie van het Caribische Centrum voor Epidemiologie

The Governments and Organizations party to this Agreement (the “Members”),

Desiring to provide for the continuing operation of the Caribbean Epidemiology Center (“CAREC”) in conformity with the Multilateral Agreement for the Operation of the Trinidad Regional Virus Laboratory signed by the Parties thereto on June 18, 1974, July 14, 1974 and October 4, 1974, respectively, and as amended and extended through December 31, 1995, December 31, 2000, December 31, 2005, and December 31, 2007;

Considering the importance of CAREC to the health of the peoples of the Caribbean;

Considering that an extension to the current Agreement is necessary for a transitional period to give the Members sufficient time to implement the necessary governance mechanisms to align and harmonize CAREC with the Caribbean Regional Health Institutions;

Considering that the General Provisions, paragraph 2, of the current Agreement provides that modifications may be made by agreement of the Parties;

Have agreed to modify the Agreement to extend the term as set forth below:
