Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1769 of 26 June 2024 amending Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/2174 as regards updating the indicative compendium of environmental goods and services and of economic activities

THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION,

Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,

Having regard to Regulation (EU) No 691/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 6 July 2011 on European environmental economic accounts (1), and in particular Article 3(5) thereof,

Whereas:

(1) The European environmental economic accounts established in Regulation (EU) No 691/2011 have a modular structure. The module for environmental goods and services sector accounts is set out in Annex V to that Regulation.

(2) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/2174 (2) establishes an indicative compendium of environmental goods and services and of the economic activities to be covered by Annex V to Regulation (EU) No 691/2011. The list of environmental activities and products and of economic activities set out in that indicative compendium has evolved since 2015 and thus needs an update to represent the environmental goods and services and environmental economic activities to be covered by the environmental goods and services accounts set out in Regulation (EU) No 691/2011.

(3) Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/2174 should therefore be amended accordingly.

(4) The measures provided for in this Regulation are in accordance with the opinion of the committee established by Article 7(1) of Regulation (EC) No 223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council (3).

HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION:

Article 1

The Annex to Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/2174 is replaced by the text in the Annex to this Regulation.

Article 2

This Regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.

This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.
