The reference method for analysis is ISO 18465 (Quantitative determination of emetic toxin (cereulide) using LC-MS/MS). When analysing cereulide toxin in liquid arachidonic acid oil, the addition of water in the extraction step is not required. However, the addition of water in the extraction step is required for powdered arachidonic acid oil.
