1 The Principal Act.

1.—In this Act, the expression “the Principal Act” means the Comptroller and Auditor-General Act, 1923 (No. 1 of 1923).

2 Amendment of section 2 of the Principal Act.

2.—The annual salary payable under subsection (1) of section 2 (which relates to the salary of the Comptroller and Auditor General) of the Principal Act shall be increased by twenty-five per cent.

3 Short title, commencement and collective citation.

3.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Comptroller and Auditor General (Amendment) Act, 1947.

(2) This Act shall be deemed to have come into operation on, and shall have effect as on and from, the 1st day of April, 1947.

(3) The Principal Act and the Comptroller and Auditor General (Amendment) Act, 1944 (No. 19 of 1944), and this Act may be cited together as the Comptroller and Auditor General Acts, 1923 to 1947.
