1 Principal Act.

1.—In this Act “the Principal Act” means the Coinage Act, 1950.

2 Amendment of Principal Act.

2.—The Principal Act is hereby amended—

(a) by inserting in subsection (1) of section 5 “, and a silver coin in respect of the year 1966,” after “The Minister may provide cupro-nickel and bronze coins”,

(b) by adding to the Second Schedule, in the appropriate columns, the particulars set out in the Schedule to this Act, and

(c) by inserting in subsection (1) of section 12 “, in the case of a tender made in silver coins issued in respect of the year 1966, one hundred shillings and, in any other case,” after “shall be legal tender for the payment of an amount not exceeding”.

3 Short title and collective citation.

3.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Coinage (Amendment) Act, 1966.

(2) The Principal Act and this Act may be cited together as the Coinage Acts, 1950 and 1966.
