1 Reduction of rate determined by local authority for 1973-74.

1.—The rate made by a local authority for the local financial year beginning on the 1st day of April, 1973, shall not be invalidated by reason of the fact that, subsequent to the estimates meeting held pursuant to section 10 of the City and County Management (Amendment) Act, 1955, at which the authority determined a rate in the pound to be levied for the several purposes specified in the estimate of expenses adopted at the meeting, the local authority, having regard to a reduction in the amount required to be contributed or otherwise paid in that year by local authorities from rates in respect of health services and housing services, reduced the said rate and made the rate for the said local financial year accordingly.

2 Short title.

2.—This Act may be cited as the Local Government (Rates) Act, 1973.
