TAXIMETER (FEES ON VERIFICATION AND STAMPING BY SPECIAL INSPECTORS) REGULATIONS, 1978.
I, DESMOND O'MALLEY, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 83 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961), and the Industry and Commerce (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1977 ( S.I. No. 306 of 1977 ), hereby, with the consent of the Minister for Finance, make the following Regulations:

These Regulations may be cited as the Taximeter (Fees on Verification and Stamping by Special Inspectors) Regulations, 1978.

(1) The fee to be paid in respect of the verification and stamping of a taximeter by a special inspector shall be fifty new pence.
- (2) Every such fee shall be paid by the person who submits the taximeter for such verification and stamping.
3.
The Weights and Measures (Verification and Stamping Fees) Order, 1978 ( S.I. No. 137 of 1978 ), shall not apply in respect of the verification and stamping of taximeters by special inspectors.
4.
The Taximeter (Fees on Verification and Stamping by Special Inspectors) Regulations, 1938 (S. R. & O., No. 284 of 1938), are hereby revoked.
