LegalizeGaming and Lotteries Act , 1979
1 Amendment of Article 37 of the Constitution.
1.—Article 37 of the Constitution is hereby amended as follows:
(a) the section set out in Part I of the Schedule to this Act shall be added to the Irish text,
(b) the section set out in Part II of the Schedule to this Act shall be added to the English text,
(c) Article 37 of both texts shall be numbered as section 1 of that Article.
2 Citation.
2.—(1) The amendment of the Constitution effected by this Act shall be called the Sixth Amendment of the Constitution.
(2) This Act may be cited as the Sixth Amendment of the Constitution (Adoption) Act, 1979.

PART I
Ní raibh ná ní bheidh aon uchtáil ar dhuine do ghlac éifeacht nó a bhfuil sé sainráidhte gur ghlac sí éifeacht aon tráth tar éis don Bhunreacht seo do theacht i ngníomh faoi dhlighthe d’achtuigh an tOireachtas agus is uchtáil de bhun ordú do rinne nó údarú do thug aon duine nó aon dream a bhí sonruighthe leis na dlighthe sin chun na feadhmanna agus na cumhachta sin d’oibriú ó bhail dlighidh de bhíthin amháin nár bhreitheamh ná cúirt do ceapadh nó do bunuigheadh mar bhreitheamh nó mar chúirt faoin mBunreacht seo an duine nó an dream sin.
PART II
No adoption of a person taking effect or expressed to take effect at any time after the coming into operation of this Constitution under laws enacted by the Oireachtas and being an adoption pursuant to an order made or an authorisation given by any person or body of persons designated by those laws to exercise such functions and powers was or shall be invalid by reason only of the fact that such person or body of persons was not a judge or a court appointed or established as such under this Constitution.
