Social Welfare (Temporary Provisions) Act , 1981
1 Increase of pensions, certain allowances and certain benefits under the Social Welfare (Consolidation) Act, 1981.
1.—Where a person is or becomes entitled to payment of any of the following pensions, benefits or allowances under the Social Welfare (Consolidation) Act, 1981—
(a) disablement pension,
(b) death benefit by way of pension,
(c) old age (contributory) pension,
(d) retirement pension,
(e) survivor's benefit under section 87,
(f) invalidity pension,
(g) deserted wife's benefit,
(h) widow's (contributory) pension,
(i) orphan's (contributory) allowance,
(j) old age pension,
(k) blind pension,
(l) widow's (non-contributory) pension,
(m) orphan's (non-contributory) pension,
(n) deserted wife's allowance,
(o) prisoner's wife's allowance,
(p) social assistance allowance,
(q) single woman's allowance,
in respect of the week commencing on—
(i) the 10th day of December, 1981, in the case of a pension, benefit or allowance mentioned at paragraph (d), (f), (g), (n), (o), (p) or (q) of this section, or
(ii) the 11th day of December, 1981, in the case of a pension, benefit or allowance mentioned at paragraph (a), (b), (c), (e), (h), (i), (j), (k), (l) or (m) of this section,
any amount payable to him by way of that pension, benefit or allowance (including any increases) for the appropriate week shall be increased by a sum equal to that amount.
2 Short title.
2.—This Act may be cited as the Social Welfare (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1981.
