1.

1.

This Order may be cited as the Winter Time Order, 1982.

2.

2.

For the years 1983, 1984 and 1985—

( a ) the period of winter time which, apart from this Article would end on the 20th day of March, 1983, is hereby varied so as to end at one o'clock Greenwich mean time in the morning of the 27th day of March, 1983;

( d ) the period of winter time which, apart from this Article, would begin at two o'clock Greenwich mean time in the morning of the 27th day of October, 1985, is hereby varied so as to begin at one o'clock Greenwich mean time in that morning.

GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 9th day of July, 1982.

SEÁN DOHERTY,

Minister for Justice.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order varies the periods of winter time, and consequently summer time, for the years 1983, 1984 and 1985. The effect of the Order will be that standard (summer) time will begin one week later in these years than under the present law. A minor effect of the Order will be that the time of change from winter time to summer time and vice versa will be 1 a.m. in the morning (G.M.T.) rather than 2 a.m.

This Order gives effect to an E.E.C. Directive concerning summer time in E.E.C. Member States.
