ROAD TRAFFIC (SPEED LIMITS) (COUNTY BOROUGH OF CORK AND COUNTY OF CORK) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1983.
The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 and 45 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) and section 46 of the said Act as amended by section 25 of the Road Traffic Act, 1968 (No. 25 of 1968) hereby makes the following Regulations:—

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Cork and County of Cork) (Amendment) Regulations, 1983.
- (2) The Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Cork and County of Cork) Regulations, 1981 ( S.I. No. 211 of 1981 ) and these Regulations shall be construed as one and may be cited together as the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Cork and County of Cork) Regulations, 1981 and 1983.

These Regulations shall come into operation on the 27th day of June, 1983.

In these Regulations "the Principal Regulations" means the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Cork and County of Cork) Regulations, 1981 ( S.I. No. 211 of 1981 ).

The Second Schedule to the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by the addition of the following matter at reference 68—
"( h ) The main Whitegate Road between a point 90 metres north of its northernmost junction with the old Whitegate Road and a point 490 metres south of the said junction.
( i ) The Upper Road, Ballinacurra, between its junction with the main Whitegate Road and a point 65 metres east of Carney's Cross.
( j ) The old Whitegate Road between its northernmost and southernmost junctions with the main Whitegate Road.
( k ) The Ballinacurra-Cloyne road between its junction with the old Whitegate Road and a point 115 metres south-east of Carney's Cross."
5.
The Third Schedule to the Principal Regulations is hereby amended as follows:—
- (i) by the substitution for the matter at reference 32 (d) of the following—
- "(d) The main Whitegate Road between the boundary of the urban district of Midleton and a point 90 metres north of its northernmost junction with the old Whitegate Road",
- (ii) by the addition of the following matter at reference 32—
"( e ) The main Whitegate Road between a point 490 metres south of its northernmost junction with the old Whitegate Road and a point 1,140 metres south of the said junction".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.
These Regulations amend the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Cork and County of Cork) Regulations, 1981 ( S.I. No. 211 of 1981 ) to alter the speed limits applicable to the Whitegate Road, Ballinacurra, Midleton, County Cork and to extend speed limit control to certain other roads in that area.
