1 Amendment of Scientific and Technological Education (Investment) Fund Act, 1997.

1.—The Scientific and Technological Education (Investment) Fund Act, 1997, is hereby amended—

(a) in subsection (1) of section 3, by the substitution of “£130,000,000” for “£100,000,000” in paragraph (a), and

(b) in subsection (1) of section 4, by the substitution of the following for subparagraph (i) of paragraph (c):

“(i) the carrying out of research and development in any area of education, including, in particular, scientific and technological research and scientific and technological development, by or on behalf of a body, college or institute referred to in paragraph (a),”.

2 Short title and collective citation.

2. (1) This Act may be cited as the Scientific and Technological Education (Investment) Fund (Amendment) Act, 1998.

(2) The Scientific and Technological Education (Investment) Fund Act, 1997, and this Act may be cited together as the Scientific and Technological Education (Investment) Fund Acts, 1997 and 1998.>
