1 Amendment of section 29 of Medical Practitioners Act, 1978.

1.—Section 29 of the Medical Practitioners Act, 1978, is amended by the substitution of the following subsection for subsection (2):

“(2) The Council may extend a period determined under subsection (1) of this section for such further period or periods as the Council may determine provided that the aggregate of such periods shall not exceed seven years.”.

2 Short title and collective citation.

2.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Medical Practitioners (Amendment) Act, 2000.

(2) The Medical Practitioners Acts, 1978 and 1993, and this Act may be cited together as the Medical Practitioners Acts, 1978 to 2000.
