All requirements related to the parent category apply unless specific exemptions or variations are listed here.
To enable representative testing the vehicle shall be submitted in a presentable state and capable of being laden to maximum mass.
For Special Purpose vehicles based on O category vehicles, a compatible towing vehicle also capable of being laden to maximum mass shall also be supplied.
A manufacturer’s representative shall be present to enable access to all parts of the vehicle, to assist in explanation of features of that vehicle, and to cooperate in any testing.
Table 3: Technical Requirements (Supplementary) for National Small Series Type-Approval for Special Purpose Vehicles
| No. | Subject | Specific issues | Applicability and variations |

| A2 | Seats and head restraints | Specially equipped vehicle | In the case of a specially equipped vehicle, the seats of the vehicle may be adapted without further testing, provided it can be demonstrated to the Approval Authority that their anchorages, mechanisms and head restraints provide the same level of performance. |
| A2 | Seats and head restraints | Wheelchair accessible vehicles | Head restraints do not apply to a seat which is a wheelchair. |
| A22 | Protective steering | Specially equipped vehicle | If a specially equipped vehicle had been adapted, then the requirements of this item shall not apply to the vehicle insofar as the adaptation prevents the vehicle from complying with any of the requirements of this item. |
| B8 | Forward vision | Wheelchair accessible vehicles | In the case of a wheelchair accessible vehicle adapted for a wheelchair to be used as the driver’s seat, it shall be sufficient to demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Approval Authority that the driver’s forward vision is comparable to that of the original driver’s seat when the vehicle was first approved to the Regulation or Directive when the seat height adjustment of the original seat shall be set in the mid position. |
