Companies (Unregistered Companies) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1991

The Department of Economic Development, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 667(1) and (3) of and Schedule 21 to the Companies (Northern Ireland) Order 1986[^f00001] and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Companies (Unregistered Companies) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1991 and shall come into operation on 20th May 1991.

Amendments to the Companies (Unregistered Companies) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1986

The Companies (Unregistered Companies) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1986[^f00002] are hereby amended as follows:

• (a) in Regulation 6(d) the words “46, 46A,” shall be inserted before the words “50 and 196”; and

• (b) in the entry in the Schedule relating to Part II of the Companies (Northern Ireland) Order 1986, for the entry relating to Article 46(3) there shall be substituted “Articles 46 to 46B … Company contracts and execution of documents by companies”.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations.)

These Regulations amend the Companies (Unregistered Companies) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1986 which apply certain provisions of the Companies (Northern Ireland) Order 1986 to unregistered companies. The amendments have the effect of applying to such companies the new provisions relating to company contracts and execution of documents inserted into the Companies (Northern Ireland) Order 1986 by the Companies (No. 2) (Northern Ireland) Order 1990. These provisions include the abolition of the requirement to have a corporate seal.
