The Department of Health and Social Services, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 1(2) of the Access to Health Records (Northern Ireland) Order 1993[^f00001] and paragraph 2(1) of Schedule 1 to the Northern Ireland Act 1974[^f00002] and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following order:

Citation

(1) This order may be cited as the Access to Health Records (1993 Order) (Commencement) Order (Northern Ireland) 1994.

(2) In this order, “the Order” means the Access to Health Records (Northern Ireland) Order 1993.

Appointed day

(1) Subject to paragraph (2), the day appointed for the coming into operation of the provisions of the Order shall be 30th May 1994.

(2) The day appointed for the coming into operation of Articles 4(2), 7(5) and 10(1), (2) and (3) of the Order shall be 18th April 1994.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the order.)

This order provides for the coming into operation on 30th May 1994 of the provisions of the Access to Health Records (Northern Ireland) Order 1993, except or those provisions necessary to the making of regulations which shall come into operation on 18th April 1994.
