Roads (Speed Limit) (No. 4) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996

Coming into operation: 6th May 1996

The Department of the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 50(4)(a) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1981[^f00001] and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Roads (Speed Limit) (No. 4) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996 and shall come into operation on 6th May 1996.

Reduction of speed limit

The rate of speed fixed by Article 50(1) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1981 shall be reduced from 30 miles per hour to 20 miles per hour in relation to the restricted roads specified in the Schedule.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order.)

This Order reduces from 30 miles per hour to 20 miles per hour the speed limit on the restricted roads specified in the Schedule (Article 2).
