Coming into operation: 21st June 1996

The Department of the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 3(1) of Part I of Schedule 1 to the Local Government &c. (Northern Ireland) Order 1972[^f00001] and now vested in it[^f00002] and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Local Government (General Grant) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996 and shall come into operation on 21st June 1996.

General Grant

For the purpose of paragraph 3(1) of Part I of Schedule 1 to the Local Government &c. (Northern Ireland) Order 1972 the districts specified for the year ending 31st March 1997 shall be the districts listed below—

Ards Belfast Dungannon Newry and Mourne
Armagh Carrickfergus Larne Strabane
Ballymena Castlereagh Lisburn
Ballymoney Craigavon Magherafelt
Banbridge Down Moyle

Revocation

The Local Government (General Grant) Order (Northern Ireland) 1992[^f00003] is hereby revoked.
