Made: 31st January 1996

To be laid before Parliament under paragraph 3(3) of Schedule 1 to the Northern Ireland Act 1974

Coming into operation: 1st April 1996

The Department of Economic Development, being the Department concerned[^f00001], in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 37(1)(c) of the Deregulation and Contracting Out Act 1994[^f00002] and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, after consultation in accordance with section 37(2) of that Act with the Health and Safety Agency for Northern Ireland and such other persons as the Department considered appropriate, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations.)

These Regulations repeal the Hours of Employment (Conventions) Act 1936 in so far as it applies to Northern Ireland and Part VIII of the Factories Act (Northern Ireland) 1965. They also revoke certain orders relating to home work.
