Certification Officer (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996

Coming into operation: 30th June 1996
The Department of Economic Development, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Articles 5(4), 6(2) and 80(1) of the Industrial Relations (Northern Ireland) Order 1992[^f00001] and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, and as respects regulation 4 with the approval of the Department of Finance and Personnel, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation, commencement and interpretation

- (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Certification Officer (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996 and shall come into operation on 30th June 1996.
- (2) In these Regulations “the Order” means the Industrial Relations (Northern Ireland) Order 1992.
Amendments to the Certification Officer (Fees) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1995

The Certification Officer (Fees) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1995[^f00002] shall be amended as provided by regulations 3 and 4.

In regulation 3 (application made by a trade union under Article 6(1) of the Order for a certificate of independence) for “£720” there shall be substituted “£740”.

In regulation 4 (application by a trade union or unincorporated employers' association under Article 74(4) of the Order for approval by the Certification Officer of an instrument of amalgamation or transfer) for “£950” there shall be substituted “£980”.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Regulations.)
These Regulations increase the fees payable to the Certification Officer under the Industrial Relations (Northern Ireland) Order 1992 prescribed in the Certification Officer (Fees) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1995 (S.R. 1995 No. 133).
The following fees have been increased:
- (a) the fee payable on an application by a trade union for a certificate of independence is increased from £720 to £740 (regulation 3);
- (b) the fee payable on application by a trade union or unincorporated employers' association for approval of a proposed instrument of amalgamation or transfer is increased from £950 to £980 (regulation 4).
