In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 4(1) and (7) of the Audit (Northern Ireland) Order 1987[^f00001] and of all other powers enabling me in that behalf, I hereby make the following Order:

Title and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Salaries (Comptroller and Auditor General) Order (Northern Ireland) 1999 and shall come into operation on 9th October 1999.

Revocation

The Salaries (Comptroller and Auditor General) Order (Northern Ireland) 1998[^f00002] is hereby revoked.

Salary

3

The annual salary payable to the holder of the office of Comptroller and Auditor General shall be increased from £87,028 to £93,454 from 1st April 1999.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order.)

This Order provides for an increase in the annual salary payable to the Comptroller and Auditor General following recommendations made in the Report of the Review Body on Senior Salaries in 1999 (HMSO CM 4245).

This increase is made with effect from 1st April 1999 under Article 4(7) of the Audit (Northern Ireland) Order 1987.

Article 2 revokes the Salaries (Comptroller and Auditor General) Order (Northern Ireland) 1998.
