Coming into operation: 19th June 2000

The Department of the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Articles 5(3), (4) and (5) and 218(1) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1981[^f00001] and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, and in accordance with Article 19C(3) of that Order[^f00002] with the approval of the Department of Finance and Personnel[^f00003] as regards regulation 2, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Amendment) (Test Fees) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2000 and shall come into operation on 19th June 2000.

Amendment of the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996

For Schedule 4 (fees for tests) to the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996[^f00004] there shall be substituted—

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations.)

These Regulations further amend the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996 by increasing fees for driving tests as follows—

The fee of £43·00 for out of hours tests in categories F, G, H and K has been omitted as out of hours testing for these categories is no longer carried out.

The fee for a test, other than an extended test, for vehicles in categories B+E, C1, C1+E, C, C+E, D1, D1+E, D and D+E remains unchanged at £49·50 for a test commencing during normal hours and £74·50 for a test commencing out of hours.
