The Social Security (1998 Order) (Commencement No. 12) Order (Northern Ireland) 2001
Made: 28th June 2001
The Department for Social Development, in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 1(2) of the Social Security (Northern Ireland) Order 1998[^f00001], and now vested in it[^f00002], and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and interpretation

- (1) This Order may be cited as the Social Security (1998 Order) (Commencement No. 12) Order (Northern Ireland) 2001.
- (2) In this Order any reference to a numbered Article or Schedule is to the Article of, or the Schedule to, the Social Security (Northern Ireland) Order 1998 bearing that number.
Appointed day

The day appointed for the coming into operation of—
- (a) paragraph 60(1)(b) of Schedule 6 (minor and consequential amendments), in so far as it relates to housing benefit, and Article 78(1) in so far as it relates to that paragraph;
- (b) paragraph 60(2) of Schedule 6 and Article 78(1) in so far as it relates to it; and
- (c) the repeal in Schedule 7 of section 5(1)(o) and (p) and (3) of the Social Security Administration (Northern Ireland) Act 1992[^f00003], in so far as that section relates to housing benefit, and Article 78(2) in so far as it relates to that repeal,
is 2nd July 2001.

This Order provides for the coming into operation on 2nd July 2001 of provisions of the Social Security (Northern Ireland) Order 1998 in respect of repeals relating to housing benefit.
