Coming into operation: 7th July 2001

The Department of the Environment, being a Department designated[^f00001] for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972[^f00002] in relation to the regulation and supervision of working conditions of persons engaged in road transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by that section and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Amendment of the Community Drivers' Hours (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (Temporary Exception) (No. 2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2001

The Community Drivers' Hours (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (Temporary Exception) (No. 2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2001[^f00004] shall be amended as follows—

  • “prescribed period” means the period of 30 days beginning on 6th July 2001;

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations.)

These Regulations extend the expiry date of the exceptions for a further period of 30 days from (and including) 7th July to (and including) 5th August 2001. The European Commission has authorised the continuation of the temporary exception provided for by these Regulations.
