Coming into operation: 18th December 2003

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by Article 36H(1) and (2) of the Criminal Justice (Children) (Northern Ireland) Order 1998[^f00001] and of every other power enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

These Rules may be cited as the Community Responsibility Order Rules (Northern Ireland) 2003 and shall come into operation on 18th December 2003.

Functions of responsible officers

In preparing for and supervising the attendance of a child subject to a community responsibility order for relevant instruction in citizenship and the carrying out by a child of practical activities for the purpose of a community responsibility order, the responsible officer shall –

Number of hours of attendance or of carrying out activities

Payment of expenses

The responsible officer may pay reasonable expenses incurred in connection with complying with the requirements imposed by a community responsibility order.

These Rules regulate the undertaking of relevant instruction in citizenship and the carrying out of practical activities by persons subject to community responsibility orders. In particular they include provision for:
