Fair Employment Tribunal (Increase of Maximum Deposit) Order (Northern Ireland) 2004

Coming into operation: 2nd April 2004
The Department for Employment and Learning, in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 84B(4) of the Fair Employment and Treatment (Northern Ireland) Order 1998[^f00001] and now vested in it[^f00002], and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Fair Employment Tribunal (Increase of Maximum Deposit) Order (Northern Ireland) 2004 and shall come into operation on 2nd April 2004.
Increase of maximum deposit

For the sum specified in Article 84B(2)(a) of the Fair Employment and Treatment (Northern Ireland) Order 1998 there is substituted the sum of £500.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Regulations.)
Article 84B (4) of the Fair Employment and Treatment (Northern Ireland) Order 1998 gives the Department for Employment and Learning power by order to substitute for the sum specified in Article 84B(2)(a) of that Order such other sum as is specified in the order. The sum is the maximum amount which the Fair Employment Tribunal may be authorised to require a party to proceedings to pay by way of deposit, if that party wishes to continue to participate in those proceedings following a pre-hearing review.
This Order increases the sum specified in Article 84B(2)(a) of the Fair Employment and Treatment (Northern Ireland) Order 1998 from £150 to £500.
