The Department of Education for Northern Ireland, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 1(3) of the Education and Libraries (Northern Ireland) Order 2003[^f00001], and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order.)

This Order brings into operation the provisions of the Education and Libraries (Northern Ireland) Order 2003[^f00002], Part II, to introduce a Common Funding Scheme for the funding of grant-aided schools, other than a special school or a school established in a hospital.

Schedule 1 of the Education and Libraries (Northern Ireland) Order 2003 (Funding of Grant-aided schools: Consequential and Supplementary amendments) amends or repeals provisions of the Education Reform (Northern Ireland) Order 1989[^f00003] and the Education (Northern Ireland) Order 1998[^f00004].
