Coming into operation: 1st April 2007

The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment[^f00001] makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 9(3) and 43 of the Weights and Measures (NorthernIreland) Order 1981[^f00002] and now vested in it [^f00003].

Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Weights and Measures (Passing as Fit for Use for Trade and Adjustment Fees) Regulations (NorthernIreland) 2007 and shall come into operation on 1st April 2007.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations.)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations prescribe the fees to be paid in having certain weighing or measuring equipment passed as fit for use for trade by inspectors of weights and measures and for the adjustment by them of weights and measures.

The Regulations additionally make provision for an increase in the fees by an average of 3%.

The Weights and Measures (Passing as Fit for Use for Trade and Adjustment Fees) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2006 are revoked except in relation to any item of equipment passed as fit for use for trade or adjustment service provided before 1st April 2007.
