Coming into operation: 2nd April 2007

The Department of the Environment makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Articles 63(5), 81(8) and (9) and 110(2) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1995[^f00001].

Citation, commencement and interpretation

Amendment to regulation 2 (interpretation)

In regulation 2(1) of the principal Regulations after the definition of “light motor vehicle” insert —

“maximum gross weight” has the same meaning as in Article 19D of the Order of 1981[^f00003];

Amendment to regulation 6 (exemptions)

Regulation 6(1) of the principal Regulations is amended as follows—

(xix) an electrically propelled goods vehicle the maximum gross weight of which does not exceed 3500 kilograms;

; and

(xxi) a goods vehicle, the maximum gross weight of which exceeds 3500 kilograms.

Amendment to Schedule 1 (fees)

In Schedule 1 to the principal Regulations in paragraph 4(h) for “£122.00” substitute “£126.50”.
