The Department for Social Development makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 1(2) of the Pensions (Northern Ireland) Order 2005[^f00001].

Citation

This Order may be cited as the Pensions (2005 Order) (Commencement No. 12) Order (Northern Ireland) 2009.

Appointed day

2

The day appointed for the coming into operation of Article 150 of the Pensions (Northern Ireland) Order 2005 (duty to pay scheme benefits unpaid at assessment date etc.) in so far as it is not already in operation is 1st March 2009.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order provides for the coming into operation of the remaining provisions (paragraphs (6) and (7)) of Article 150 of the Pensions (Northern Ireland) Order 2005 on 1st March 2009.

Article 150 (6) and (7) gives the Department for Social Development the power to make regulations requiring the Board of the Pension Protection Fund to take actions in respect of the rights of pension scheme members.
