The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 3(2) of, and paragraph 5 of Schedule 1 to, the Health and Personal Social Services (Quality, Improvement and Regulation) (Northern Ireland) Order 2003[^f00001].

Citation, commencement and interpretation

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the RQIA (Appointments and Procedure) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2011 and shall come into operation on 26th May 2011.

(2) In these Regulations “the principal Regulations” means the Regulation and Improvement Authority (Appointments and Procedure) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2004[^f00002].

Amendment of regulation 4 of the principal Regulations

In Regulation 4(1) (Disqualification for appointment) of the principal Regulations delete sub-paragraph (k).

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations remove the disqualification for appointment relating to persons who hold a paid appointment or office with a trade union which represents the interests of members who are employed by a health service body or a health and social services body.
