The Department of Finance and Personnel has consented to the making of these Regulations in accordance with section 72(2A) of the Police (Northern Ireland) Act 1998[^f00004].

Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Police Service of Northern Ireland and Police Service of Northern Ireland Reserve (Full-Time) (Amendment) Regulations 2011 and shall come into operation on 24th March 2011.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations amend the Royal Ulster Constabulary Reserve (Full-Time) (Appointment and Conditions of Service) Regulations 1996 and the Police Service of Northern Ireland Regulations 2005 to allow for an extra day of leave to members of the Police Service of Northern Ireland and Police Service of Northern Ireland Reserve (Full-Time) on 29th April 2011, to mark the Royal Wedding. These Regulations also amend the definition of “public holiday” in the Police Service of Northern Ireland and Police Service of Northern Ireland Reserve (Injury Benefit) Regulations 2006.
