Coming into operation: 2nd May 2011

The Department of Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 22(1) of the County Courts (Northern Ireland) Order 1980[^f00001], after consultation with the Lord Chief Justice, makes the following Order.

Citation and Commencement

This Order may be cited as the County Courts (Financial Limits) Order (Northern Ireland) 2011 and shall come into operation on 2nd May 2011.

Article 3 (b) of the County Courts (Financial Limits) Order (Northern Ireland) Order 2001[^f00002] is revoked.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Order)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order increases the jurisdiction of district judges in the county courts in Northern Ireland in respect of arbitrations (small claims) from £2,000 to £3,000.
