Coming into operation: 1st May 2012

The Department for Social Development makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 60B (2) and (3) of the Licensing (Northern Ireland) Order 1996[^f00001] and now vested in it[^f00002].

Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Licensing (Notice relating to Age) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2012 and shall come into operation on 1st May 2012.

A notice under Article 60B(1) of the Licensing (Northern Ireland) Order 1996 must—

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations prescribe the notice relating to age that licensed premises must display in those areas where intoxicating liquor is sold; the information to be contained in the notice in relation to offences concerning the sale to, purchase or consumption of intoxicating liquor by persons under 18 years of age; and the list of acceptable proof-of-age documents where there is doubt as to whether a person is aged 18 years or over.
