The Department of the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 129 of the Local Government Act (Northern Ireland) 2014[^f00001], makes the following Order:
Citation and interpretation

- (1) This Order may be cited as the Local Government (2014 Act) (Commencement No. 1) Order (Northern Ireland) 2014.
- (2) In this Order any reference to a numbered section is a reference to the section of the Local Government Act (Northern Ireland) 2014.
Provisions of the Act coming into operation on 20th May 2014

The day appointed for the coming into operation of—
- (a) section 38 (regulations about standing orders);
- (b) section 53 (code of conduct);
- (c) section 124 (supplementary and transitional provisions for the purposes of this Act and other purposes); and
- (d) section 127 (regulations and orders)
