The Welfare Reform (Northern Ireland) Order 2015 (Commencement No. 4) Order 2016

Those powers are exercisable by the Secretary of State by virtue of Article 4(1)(a) of that Order.

Citation

This Order may be cited as the Welfare Reform (Northern Ireland) Order 2015 (Commencement No. 4) Order 2016.

Provisions coming into force on 1st June 2016

• (1) The following provisions of the Welfare Reform (Northern Ireland) Order 2015 come into force on 1st June 2016.

• (2) In Part 3 (working-age benefits)—

• (a) in Chapter 1 (jobseeker’s allowance)—

• (i) Articles 51 and 52, for the purpose of making regulations;

• (ii) in Schedule 7, paragraph 3, for the purpose of making regulations;

• (b) in Chapter 2 (employment and support allowance), Article 62.

• (3) In Part 4 (other benefit changes)—

• (a) Article 70(3) and (4);

• (b) Article 72(1) and (2), for the purpose of making regulations.

Provisions coming into force on 31st October 2016

• (1) The following provisions of the Welfare Reform (Northern Ireland) Order 2015 come into force on 31st October 2016.

• (2) In Part 4 (other benefit changes)—

• (a) Article 70(1) and (2);

• (b) Article 71;

• (c) Article 72(1) and (2), for remaining purposes;

• (d) Articles 73 and 74.

• (3) In Part 8 (repeals), Part 6 of Schedule 12.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings into force provisions of the Welfare Reform (Northern Ireland) Order 2015 relating to, in particular:

• jobseeker’s allowance;

• employment and support allowance;

• industrial injuries benefit.
