Coming into operation

The Department of the Environment makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 247(6) of the Planning Act (Northern Ireland) 2011[^f00001].

Title and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Planning (Local Development Plan) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2016 and shall come into operation on 29th February 2016.

Amendment of the Planning (Local Development Plan) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015

In paragraph 1 of the Schedule to the Planning (Local Development Plan) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015[^f00002]—

(a) for “the Planning (Northern Ireland) 1991 Order” substitute “the Planning (Northern Ireland) Order 1972[^f00003] or the Planning (Northern Ireland) Order 1991”; and

(b) for “that Order” substitute “the Planning (Northern Ireland) Order 1991”.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These regulations amend the transitional provisions in the Planning (Local Development Plan) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015 to include development plans prepared and adopted by the Department under the Planning (Northern Ireland) Order 1972 within the definition of a departmental development plan under the Planning Act (Northern Ireland) 2011.
