Coming into operation in accordance with Article 1
Accordingly, the Department of Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 23(6)(b), makes the following Order.
Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (Power of arrest: Code of Practice) Order (Northern Ireland) 2016 and shall come into operation on 1st April 2016.
Code of Practice

The code of practice entitled “Code of Practice to be followed by Northern Ireland Constables and Enforcement Officers when arresting a person under the power conferred by paragraph 22(2) of Schedule 2 to the Modern Slavery Act 2015” comes into operation upon commencement of Part 3 of and Schedule 2 to the 2015 Act.

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Order)
EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order brings into operation a Code of Practice to be followed by Northern Ireland constables and enforcement officers when arresting a person under the power conferred by paragraph 22(2) of Schedule 2 to the Modern Slavery Act 2015. The Code takes effect upon commencement of Part 3 of, and Schedule 2 to, the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
