The Executive Office, being a Department designated for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 [^f00001] in relation to discrimination [^f00002], makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by that section.

Citation, commencement and interpretation

(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Sex Discrimination Order 1976 (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2018 and shall come into operation on 12th December 2018.

(2) The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954 [^f00003] shall apply to these Regulations as it applies to an Act of the Assembly.

In regulation 4(1) and (2) of the Sex Discrimination Order 1976 (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2012 [^f00004], for “Office of the First Minister and deputy First Minister”, substitute “Department for Communities”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations amend Regulation 4 of the Sex Discrimination Order 1976 (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2012 to substitute Department for Communities for the Office of the First Minister and deputy First Minister.
