Coming into operation in accordance with regulation 1

The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs[^f00001] makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 11 of, and Part 1C of Schedule 2 to, the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018[^f00002].

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations are made in exercise of the powers conferred by Part 1C of Schedule 2 to, the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018, to ensure that Northern Ireland subordinate legislation relating to alien and locally absent species in aquaculture can continue to operate effectively after the EU exit transition period. The Statutory Rule will ensure Northern Ireland remains aligned with EU rules in these areas in accordance with the Protocol on Ireland/Northern Ireland.

An impact assessment has not been produced for this Statutory Rule as no, or no significant impact on the private, voluntary or public sector is foreseen.
