The Department of Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 11(2) of the Financial Provisions Act (Northern Ireland) 2014[^f00001], makes the following Regulations.

Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Police Rehabilitation and Retraining Trust (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2021 and shall come into operation on 10th August 2021.

Interpretation

In these Regulations, “the Board” means the Board of Trustees of the Police Rehabilitation and Retraining Trust.

Procedures

(1) In the Police Rehabilitation and Retraining Trust Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2014[^f00002], existing regulation 6 (procedures) shall become regulation 6(1).

(2) After regulation 6(1) insert—

(2) Those procedures may provide for the discharge, under the general direction of the Board, of any of the Board’s functions by a committee of the Board or by one or more of the members of the Board or of its staff.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations amend the Police Rehabilitation and Retraining Trust Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2014 (S.R. 2014 No. 163) to provide that the Board of the Trust may delegate any of its functions to a Committee of the Board or to one or more of the members of the Board or to its staff.
