In accordance with section 25Q of that Act the Department of Health is of the opinion that, by reason of urgency, it is necessary to make these Regulations without a draft having been laid before, and approved by a resolution of, the Assembly.

Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Wearing of Face Coverings) (Amendment) (No.7) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2021 and shall come into operation at noon on 31st October 2021.

At the end of regulation 4A(2)(j) omit “or”.

In Regulation 4A(2)(k) omit “seated” and for the full stop after “(including intoxicating liquor)” substitute “; or”.

After Regulation 4A(2)(k) insert—

(l) by a person dancing in a relevant place.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations amend the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Wearing of Face Coverings) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020 by removing the requirement for anyone to wear a face covering when eating or drinking in an indoor setting and when dancing.

No regulatory impact assessment has been prepared for these Regulations.
