Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as The Financial Assistance (Coronavirus) (No.2) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2021 and come into operation on 9th April 2021.
Amendments to the Coronavirus Financial Assistance No. 2 Scheme 2020

In the Schedule to the Financial Assistance (Coronavirus) (No. 2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020[^f00003]—
- (a) In paragraph 1(2)—
- (i) for the definition of “the Coronavirus Regulations” substitute—
- “the Coronavirus Regulations” means the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2021[^f00004];
- (ii) for the definition of “relevant business” substitute—
- “relevant business” subject to paragraph 2(3)(b), means a business or service which was restricted or subject to closure as a result of regulations 4, 5, 8 or 16 of, or paragraphs 1(4) to (10) and paragraph 1(12) of Schedule 1 to, the Coronavirus Regulations;
- (b) in paragraphs 3, 4 and 5 remove the words “within a designated district” where they appear;
- (c) in paragraph 7 remove sub-paragraph (e).

Explanatory note
(This note is not part of the Regulations)
EXPLANATORY NOTE
These Regulations amend the Financial Assistance (Coronavirus) (No. 2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020.
Regulation 1 provides for citation and commencement.
Regulation 2 provides minor amendments to the Coronavirus Financial Assistance scheme provided for by the Financial Assistance (Coronavirus) (No. 2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2020.
The amendments in regulation 2 serve to track the changes made to Covid-19 restrictions by the Department of Health, in particular as a result of the implementation of the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2021.
