The Licensing and Registration of Clubs (Amendment) Act (Northern Ireland) 2021 (Consequential Provision) Regulations 2022

Coming into operation in accordance with regulation 1(2)
The Department for Communities[^f00001], in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 45(2) and (3) of the Licensing and Registration of Clubs (Amendment) Act (Northern Ireland) 2021[^f00002], makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement

- (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Licensing and Registration of Clubs (Amendment) Act (Northern Ireland) 2021 (Consequential Provision) Regulations 2022.
- (2) These Regulations come into operation on 1st June 2022 immediately after the coming into operation of section 11 of the Licensing and Registration of Clubs (Amendment) Act (Northern Ireland) 2021.
Consequential provision

In the application of Schedule 10 to the Licensing (Northern Ireland) Order 1996 to an authorisation under the Article 52F inserted in that Order by section 11 of the Licensing and Registration of Clubs (Amendment) Act (Northern Ireland) 2021 –
- (a) the reference in paragraph 2 to the clerk of petty sessions is to be read as including a reference to the chief clerk of the county court; and
- (b) the reference in paragraph 3 to magistrates’ courts rules is to be read as including a reference to county court rules.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
These Regulations are the first to be made under the power to make consequential provision conferred by section 45(2) of the Licensing and Registration of Clubs (Amendment) Act (Northern Ireland) 2021 (“the Act”).
Regulation 2 makes consequential amendments to Schedule 10 to the Licensing (Northern Ireland) Order 1996 in relation to the procedure to apply to the county court for an authorisation under the Article 52F of that Order inserted by section 11 of the Act, which provides for local producers of alcoholic drinks to sell their produce for consumption in their premises.
