The Department for Communities[^f00001] makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 5(1)(j), 165(1) and (5) of the Social Security Administration (Northern Ireland) Act 1992[^f00002].

Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security Benefits (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2022 and shall come into operation on 3rd March 2022.

Omit paragraph (2) of regulation 1 of the Social Security Benefits (Claims and Payments) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2021[^f00003].

EXPLANATORY NOTE

Regulation 2 makes a technical amendment to remove an unnecessary provision from the Social Security Benefits (Claims and Payments) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2021[^f00004].
