Coming into operation -: 1st October 2023

The Department for Infrastructure[^f00001], makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 18(1), 30(1) and 56(1) of the Taxis Act (Northern Ireland) 2008[^f00002] and now vested in it[^f00003].

Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Taxis (Taximeters, Devices and Maximum Fares) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2023 and shall come into operation on 1st October 2023.

Amendment of the Taxis (Taximeters, Devices and Maximum Fares) Regulations

In regulation 4 of the Taxis (Taximeters, Devices and Maximum Fares) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015[^f00004] (application), in paragraph (2) for “£35.00” substitute “£42.00”.

Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations amend the Taxis (Taximeters, Devices and Maximum Fares) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015 in order to increase the fee payable for the inspection, testing and sealing of an approved taximeter and device from £35.00 to £42.00.
