The Road Traffic (Fixed Penalty) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2023

Made: 20th April 2023

Coming into operation: 15th May 2023

In accordance with Article 91(1) of that Order the Department has consulted with such representative organisations as it thinks fit.

Citation and commencement

This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Fixed Penalty) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2023 and shall come into operation on 15th May 2023.

In Schedule 1 to the Road Traffic (Fixed Penalty) Order (Northern Ireland) 2007[^f00004] (fixed penalties), after item 25 insert—

Explanatory note

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order amends Schedule 1 to the Road Traffic (Fixed Penalty) Order (Northern Ireland) 2007 by inserting an amount of £100 for the fixed penalty prescribed for the offence under Article 12 of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1995.

The new fixed penalty relates to the offence of driving a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road or other public place without due care and attention, or without reasonable consideration for other persons using the road or place.
