The Department for Communities[^f00001] makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 86(7) of the Pensions (Northern Ireland) Order 2005[^f00002].

This Order may be cited as the Pensions (2005 Order) (Code of Practice) (Defined Benefit Funding) (Appointed Day) Order (Northern Ireland) 2024.

The day appointed for the purposes of Article 86(7) of the Pensions (Northern Ireland) Order 2005 (procedure for issue and publication of codes of practice) for the coming into operation of the Pensions Regulator Defined benefit funding code of practice is 12th November 2024[^f00003].

EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order appoints 12th November 2024 as the day for the coming into operation of the Pensions Regulator Defined benefit funding code of practice. The Defined benefit funding code of practice provides guidance on the new scheme funding regime.
The Defined benefit funding code of practice is available on the Pensions Regulator’s website: https://www.thepensionsregulator.gov.uk/en/document-library. Copies may be obtained by post from the Pensions Regulator, Telecom House, 125-135 Preston Road, Brighton BN1 6AF.
